Salah Eddine Hamli controls the action, now reigns over the PFL MENA Lightweight Division

Though he’s earned submission victories, Salah Eddine Hamli’s striking has been key to his success, having been a multiple time boxing champion in Spain. He is undefeated in MMA with a 10-0 record, including five submission victories and a pair of KO/TKOs. Hamli submitted Abbas Khan and Souhil Tairi to reach this year’s Lightweight Final.

A judo and Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt, Mohammad Fahmi has found success through those disciplines, having been a multiple time national champion in both, as well as an Asian JJIF gold medalist. He enters tonight 6-0 in MMA, including four submission wins and one win via KO/TKO. Fahmi scored a pair of first-round finishes of Georges Eid and Mohsen Mohammadseifi in upset fashion to reach tonight’s final.

Both men with a jab. Another takedown attempt by Fahmi, but Hamli stops it. Fahmi continues to put effort into takedown attempts, trying to drive Hamli into the fence. Hamli in side control. Is he trying to work his way to the back? Hamli lands some right hands.

Fahmi gets up. Hamli lands a right hand. Another punch, followed by a leg kick. Fahmi might be fatigued. Left hand by Hamli, and we have another clinch battle. Strong right hand by Hamli. Right hand to the body. Fahmi goes for a takedown, but Hamli is on top again. These are clearly takedown attempts from desperation. Hamli looks for a D’Arce choke! A tapout with just under a minute left in the round!
